The Wixom Water System is operated by an independent contractor (Suez) with general supervision and oversight provided by the Department of Public Works. The system consists of approximately 81 miles of piping, a 1.5 million gallon storage tank and a booster/metering station. Water is purchased from the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department then sold to the end user.
