Watch Out Wixom (WOW!) Safety Campaign

The Wixom Police Department is launching a new safety initiative called Watch Out Wixom (WOW!).  Stay tuned for more information on the many aspects of the campaign.

For now, I would like to tell you about one very important element of WOW!: walking, biking, and driving safety.

Whether you are walking, riding a bike, or driving a motor vehicle, the Wixom Police Department wants you to get where you are going safely. By taking basic precautions and being aware of your surroundings, the likelihood of accidents and injuries can be dramatically reduced.

The WOW! campaign includes distribution of information and safety tips from the South East Michigan Council of Governments (SEMCOG). SEMCOG has developed a new brochure emphasizing important safety tips for walking, biking, and driving, as well as explanations of relevant state laws, infrastructure, and signage. Copies of this brochure are available at Wixom City Hall, the Wixom Community Center, and the Wixom Police Station.

The safety of those who live, work, and spend time in Wixom is always the Wixom Police Department’s first priority. We urge you to use the resources on this web page to make our City safer for everyone.

Please check back frequently for more information on WOW!
