The City Manager is the chief administrator of the City, appointed by the City Council. The City Manager is responsible for making recommendations to the City Council on policy and service matters; for implementing and administering those policies, programs and ordinances adopted by the Mayor and City Council; and for promoting high standards of ethics, professionalism, integrity and responsiveness throughout the City organization.
On April 17, 2017, the Wixom City Council appointed Steven Brown as City Manager. Steve was formerly City Manager in Mount Clemens and has worked at SMART and in Wayne County government. Steve is a graduate of Kalamazoo College, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Business Administration degree, and the University of Michigan's Rackham School of Graduate Studies, where he received his Master of Public Administration degree.
