CITY OF WIXOM
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING


The Wixom City Council will hold a Public Hearing at their regular meeting on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at 7:00 pm at the Wixom City Hall, 49045 Pontiac Trail, Wixom MI 48393, to discuss the proposed construction of a new Wixom Elementary at 3515 W. Maple by the Walled Lake Consolidated School District (WLCSD).

Per the Revised School Code (Act 451 of 1976), the Michigan State Superintendent of Public Instruction has sole and exclusive jurisdiction over the review and approval of plans and specifications for the construction, reconstruction, or remodeling of school buildings used for instructional or noninstructional school purposes.

Topics to be discussed include the City’s concerns about traffic impacts, public safety and other site considerations. City Council is seeking public feedback regarding the proposed site and experiences with other WLCSD facilities in and around Wixom.
