City Operations

Facilities Closed to the Public

Post Date:03/13/2020 8:34 PM

During this public health situation, the City of Wixom administration has decided to enact a partial closure of City services.  This decision was not made lightly and was made only after a careful review of what the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) defines as “essential functions.”  This decision was made to ensure the City’s continuity of operations and to protect the health and safety of the public and our staff.

This partial closure will not affect 911 or police, fire, and emergency medical services.

This partial closure will not affect water and wastewater functions.

Effective Monday, March 16, 2020, the following City owned buildings will be closed to the public:

City Hall—49045 Pontiac Trail
Community Center—49015 Pontiac Trail
Public Library—49015 Pontiac Trail
Department of Public Works—2041 Charms Road
Wixom Wastewater Treatment Plant—2059 Charms Road
Fire Station (ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES)—1345 N. Wixom Road

The Wixom Police station located at 49045 Pontiac Trail will remain open.

Again, this partial closure will not affect 911 or police, fire, and emergency medical services.  This partial closure will not affect water and wastewater functions.

The City will continue to staff in order to maintain essential routine and emergency functions and to respond to the public health situation.  Click HERE for a service update during this partial closure.
