Kentucky Trailer held a Ribbon Cutting at their new  130,000 square foot Wixom location this morning.  The Wixom facility, located at 48282 Frank Street, is a consolidation of two former locations, one in Walled Lake and the other Lyon Township.  Kentucky Trailer will continue as  a world leader in design, manufacturing and service solutions for the specialty trailer, custom transport and mobilized business markets.    https://www.kytrailer.com/about/our-company.html

Anca, Inc.

Anca, Inc., a machine tool builder, recently celebrated with a ribbon cutting at their Wixom Facility. The company expanded their facility by 50%, adding a dedicated customer focus and training center, and doubling its machine demonstration area. The event is captured in the video below.

Anca, Inc., president, Russell Riddiford hosted representatives from the company's Melbourne, Austrailia headquarters, as well as many other visitors, including some local dignitaries. 

*Schonscheck, Inc., also a Wixom company, was contracted for the expansion. 

Ford Wixom Plant Property Sold

The former Ford Wixom Plant property has been sold to a new owner, Industrial Commercial Properties (ICP) of Solon, OH. ICP owns/has redeveloped other former automotive properties in multiple states, including here in Oakland County. They have indicated a desire to bring outstanding commercial and industrial uses forward for the property and we look forward to working together with ICP to transform this long vacant industrial space in Wixom.

Wixom Police Announce Citizen's Academy March 6-May 22, 2019

Have you ever wondered what a police officer’s shift consist of? What they encounter or how they handle certain situations? For each of the past 21 years the police departments of the cities of Wixom, Novi, Walled Lake, Wolverine Lake and South Lyon have given their citizens the opportunity to learn what it is like to be a police officer, to participate in and become familiar with the operations of their local police department and to become familiar with the criminal justice system.

The 41st session of the Lakes Area Citizens Police Academy starts March 6, 2019 and runs for 10 weeks. This course consists of 30 hours of instruction covering topics from patrol operations to crime scene investigation. The instruction also includes hands on exercises, presentations, trips to the 52-1 District Court, the Oakland County Medical Examiners officer and even a ride-along with a police officer.

Applications are currently being accepted for the FREE Lakes Area Citizens Police Academy, which is scheduled to begin March 6, 2019. In order to participate citizens must be 18 years of age or older and reside or work in one of the participating jurisdictions. Applications are available at each of the participating agencies or on-line at www.wixomgov.org . The deadline for applications is February 19, 2019.

Classes are scheduled for Wednesday evenings from 6:30pm to 9:00pm, March 6nd through May 22, 2019. The first class meets at the Novi Police Training Center. For more information contact Detective Sergeant Mark Bradley at 248-624-6114.
