…And they’re off! The Wixom Downtown Development Authority (DDA) will host its annual Wixom Derby Day on Saturday, May 5. The starting line for the 9:00 am 5K and 10K walk/run is in our Downtown’s Sibley Park. Get your fillies and colts ready for the newly-added 1 Mile Fun Run and the littlest ponies will race their horses on the Tot Trot course.
This year all participants of the 5K, 10K, and 1 Mile Fun Run will receive medals. The overall winners for the 5k and 10K, male and female, will receive an additional prize of HOKA Ora Recovery Slides, donated and sponsored by Running Fit of Northville. Placement medals will go to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners of the 5K and 10K, male and female, excluding the overall winners stated above. Lastly, Tot Trot participants will receive a Derby Day temporary tattoo and Dairy Queen coupon. For more details, please visit the registration website.
All runners will receive a complimentary wristband for Downtown discounts at participating businesses. This is a stroller- and pet-friendly race. Come join the fun and don’t forget your Derby Day Hat!

We are excited to announce the Wixom DDA is partnering for this year's Derby Day with Camp Casey. Camp Casey is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit horseback riding organization for children with cancer and rare blood disorders. Through generous donations and compassionate volunteers, Camp Casey has spread the healing power of horses to Michigan families for over a decade. Come meet Stella the horse from 10:00 am - 11:00 am.
