September 18, 2017: Beck Road Update
September 18 Update:
On Monday and Tuesday, the Beck Road construction crew will remove curbs on the east (northbound) side of Beck Road beginning at Pontiac Trail and working their way south towards West Road. Weather permitting, new curbs will be poured on Wednesday and Thursday. Commuters should expect intermittent lane closures in the northbound lane with the usual rotating stop and go signs.
September 11 Update:
There is no construction activity today (Monday), and therefore no lane closures. There will be lane closures of the south-bound lane tomorrow (Tuesday) for the pouring of the concrete curbs. The south-bound pouring should be completed tomorrow. On Wednesday and Thursday, there will be lane closures of the north-bound lane for curb cutting (Wednesday) and curb removal (Thursday). All lane closures will be conducted with the usual rotating Stop and Go signs to allow traffic to pass.
September 7 Update:
Today, the Commerce Construction crew is working on Beck Road north of the railroad tracks, continuing to remove curbs and working north towards Pontiac Trail. They should be done with the west side of the road by Friday night. On Monday morning, another company will begin pouring replacement curbs beginning at Pontiac Trail and working their way south to West Road.
September 6 Update:
Today, the crew will work on the west side of Beck Rd beginning at West Rd and working towards Pontiac Trail. This is the plan for the remainder of the week. The construction company’s foremen will speak with business owners as the need arises.
September 5 Update:
Curb work is slated to begin this week on Beck Road, causing intermittent lane closures. This stage of the construction project will be done as flag work with the usual rotating stop and go signs to allow traffic to pass. We will keep commuters informed as construction schedules are determined.
